Working for private clients alongside the lead architect this sustainable, energy efficient detached homeĀ was constructed on the site of a much altered, pre-war bungalow.
The construction is of thick Hemcrete panels, a mixture of hydraulic lime and cement, in a timber frame, faced externally with hydraulic lime render and flint facing the projected entrance porch. Internal lining is plasterboard on battens. Windows have been carefully scaled in relation to their orientation, with more extensive areas to the south, garden side, of the house. The combination of these design measures enables the house to achieve impressive energy efficiency together with the installation of passive solar panels.
A project we are proud of being involved in which also achieved two awards for its design and construction.
